Calie is a London-based drummer and percussionist. She grew up in Cornwall playing with the local brass bands and jazz bands, in a
thriving and supportive music scene.
Touring shows include: ABBA Mania (UK Tour), Opera for the Unknown Woman (UK Tour), Showstopper! The Improvised Musicial (UK tour).
Calie has recorded with Voces8 and appeared with Clean Bandit, Zara Larson, Anne-Marie and Julia Michaels at the 2017 MTV European Music Awards. She recorded percussion for David Cazalet's Requiem for Aleppo, which premiered at Sadler's Wells in 2017. She has also collaborated with many great composers including Karl Jenkins, Michael Finnissy and Ilaiyaraaja, a critically acclaimed Indian film composer, on his score for the film Nee Thaanae En Pon Vasantham.
Theatre work includes: National Theatre – Anthony and Cleopatra (2018-2019), Peter Gynt (2019). Shakespeare’s Globe – Boudica (2017), Emilia (2018), Much Ado About Nothing (2017). Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre – Peter Pan (2018). Royal Shakespeare Company - Titus Andronicus (Barbican Centre 2017-2018), The Other Palace - Showstopper! The Improvised Musicial (2019)
As an orchestral musician she has performed with the London Contemporary Orchestra, The Nash Ensemble of London, Orpheus Sinfonia, Southbank Sinfonia, Northern Chords Festival Orchestra and The Little Orchestra.
She is a member of The She Street band, an all-female Bruce Springsteen covers band and the drummer for Vinegar Strokes, a star of Drag Race UK.
Calie gained her Bachelor of Honors degree at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama.
